Divorce.

Getting divorced, or contemplating divorce, is often an emotionally challenging time in your life. If you are thinking about taking the first step or have already made up your mind, working with Holden Smith will make all the difference.

Our Family Law Services

Children law and child arrangements.

When you separate from your partner, you need to make arrangements for your children. If there are any disputes about the arrangements for the children, then you may need legal assistance.

Pre- and post-nuptial agreements.

These contracts outline how assets would be divided if the relationship were to end and can be put in place before (Pre-nup) or during a marriage (Post-Nup). This is particularly popular and useful for second marriages or when entering a marriage with unequal financial positions.

Injunctions.

There are two main types of family law injunctions: a non-molestation order and an occupation order.

Contested finances.

This occurs when parties cannot agree on how to divide their assets upon separation or divorce. We can assist with trying to reach a financial settlement using the court process when all of the more amicable approaches have failed.

Financial consent orders.

These set out all the terms of a financial settlement between a married couple at the time of their divorce.

Civil Partnership Dissolution and Separation agreements.

If you are not married or you are married but not divorcing as part of your separation, the court will not approve a consent order. The next best option is to have a separation agreement drawn up.

Domestic Abuse

If you are looking to leave an abusive partner, our discreet experts can help you safely issue court proceedings.

Cohabitation Agreements/Declarations of Trust.

A legal document between two unmarried individuals who are in a relationship and outline how they will own or manage their property, finances and other shared responsibilities.
