About Rob
Rob is a consultant solicitor within the corporate department. He joined the firm in 2022.
Rob specialises in corporate mergers and acquisitions and deals with:
company sales and purchases
business sales and purchases
shareholder agreements
partnerships
corporate restructures (such as new share classes etc.)
articles of association
other ad hoc commercial matters
He has a particular specialism in Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs), a very tax-efficient route for company owners to exit by selling their shares to a trust run for the benefit of employees. Rob is the independent director of three separate EOTs.
Rob studied Law at St Catherine’s College Oxford.
He is dual-qualified as a chartered accountant as well as a solicitor, having qualified as an accountant with PWC and as a solicitor with a large international firm. He qualified as a solicitor 15 years ago after a career as finance director and CFO of large private and public companies. Having qualified as a solicitor in his 40s, Rob became managing partner of a well-established law firm in Huddersfield. He merged that firm into a larger city-based firm where he stayed on as a partner for six years before joining Holden Smith.
What his clients say
