About Luke

Luke is a Solicitor, Head of Commercial Property and the Branch Manager at our Denby Dale head office, having joined the firm in February 2025.

Luke deals with all aspects of Commercial Property, including:

  • Commercial sales and purchases

  • Commercial refinance

  • Commercial leases

  • Deeds of grant and release of easements

  • Overage agreements

  • Option agreements

  • Site acquisition and disposal

In addition to Commercial Property, he has considerable experience in complex Residential Property and can assist with Deeds of Variation, new build site setup and sales, new build purchases and bridging finance.

Luke has worked in property law for 22 years, starting out at a high street firm in Leeds when he was 16. Prior to joining Holden Smith, he was a director and owner of another local firm in Huddersfield for 6 years.

Before qualifying as a Solicitor, Luke studied a degree in Business Information Systems from Leeds Metropolitan University and a Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Huddersfield. He then completed the Legal Practice Course and a Masters in Legal Practice at the University of Sheffield.

Known for his down-to-earth manner and straight-talking approach, Luke offers professional, proactive and pragmatic advice.
